We Are A Help and Rescue, Non-Profit, Volunteer Project for Cats and Dogs in New Mexico. Dew Paws is a new venture, born of a “flash-in-the-pan” epiphany over ~ what else ~ good coffee with friends! We hope that Dew Paws will grow into a project that can offer assistance to other established animal rescue organizations, and like minded individuals in the community, so that together we can work towards the best results for abandoned house-pets. Dew Paws is a new start up, not-for-profit, help organization. Right now we are working with one other local cat-rescue operation to offer needed assistance and learn from them. Pictures and other information about Dew Paws is on the way! Thank you for your interest in this project. See our adoption list available below.

Star came from Valencia county. She was so starved she could no longer stand. Her 5-pups were fat and healthy. Time’s-up, we had to pull them. All the pups are placed and Star lives in foster care. This is one of the BEST dogs I have ever rescued. Sweet, calm, gets along with everything on 2 or 4 paws. Current weight 46lbs, probabaly about 14 months old now. Soft mouth, light on the leash, easy – easy dog.

Nekida is an 11-month old female pit bull, white with light tan speckles and a red-nose, Her owner had to leave his home and move to a place where he could not take a large dog with him, and so, gave her up to rescue. She is friendly and appropriate with people and other dogs. She weighs 50+ lbs and should not get bigger, though she may fill out some more. Large and strong and still a “puppy”. She is now living at Fur and Feathers in Pie Town. Please contact us or them if you are interested in adopting this dog.

Runs like a Greyhound, behaves like a Border Collie, looks like a pit-bull. She is a lovely white/brindled dog, pretty face, sweet and loving, gets along with other dogs. She has passed basic training and is now in intermediate. She has turned from shy to happy. She is about 18-months old now, 62 lbs, loves to cuddle, warms up to new people quickly, loves kids but a jumper, okay w/cats (in the house) once she gets over being excited about them. Will do best with a dog-experienced owner who has the time to walk/run/exercise/train on a regular basis. For adoption!

This guy is just special. He’s a dear and will make someone a very sweet animal companion. He is not much to look at, about 30 lbs, we think he is a healer/dachshund mix. He is a little shy, but warms up quickly. Good with other dogs, cats and people of all sizes. Won’t you consider him to be your very own? We think he turned one-year in the fall of 2010. (pix with Wed. who is 13/14 lbs)

Great Dog – gets along with all, medium/large size. Rescued off a chain. We think he is now about 9-years old. Fully vetted and house-trained. Serious fellow. Gets along well with other dogs. Is on thyroid medication – no biggie. Come take him home and make his senior years grand!

Emily’s person died. She was turned out on the street and abandoned. She was picked up, near death from starvation, by friendly neighbors and brought to the shelter. Because of her age and condition she was not a candidate for adoption. We took her, rehabbed her and now, as you can see; she is the correct weight, sleek, healthy and happy. Emily is declawed. She lives in rescue with other cats and dogs, but, at 15-years, deserves to live the rest of her life on someones lap! She is affectionate and sweet. Please consider her for your own.
